Attire and Equipment

All people entering the club must wear soft-sole shoes that do not leave marks on the floor.  Players are responsible for providing their own paddles.  Where questions of appropriate play, equipment, clothing, etc. come into question, USATT rules will be followed in all instances.  A copy of USATT regulations is located in the club.  No gluing should take place inside the gymnasium; rubber sheet gluing should be conducted outside the club.

Expedited Table Access

When all tables are occupied with at least one person waiting to play, players may stay on a table for no more than 20 minutes in order to allow everyone an opportunity to play.  If playing matches, the winner is allowed to stay on for no more than 2 matches and then must surrender the table to others waiting to play.

Professional Coaching

Professional coaching is defined as coaching for money.  Professional coaching is provided as a service to the GBTTC and other table tennis players.  Professional coaching is exempt from the Expedited Table Access rule above.  Only one table can be used for professional coaching at any time although there is no limit to the number of people who can be coached at that table.  Professional coaching must take place only during the first 2 hours of the club's opening on any night.  The table at which professional coaching occurs must be encompassed with barriers.  People not professionally coached must adhere to the Expedited Table Access rule.

Player Conduct

  • People must not abuse tables by sitting on them, banging them with paddles, placing food or drink on them, locking table legs (rollers) and not unlocking them when finished playing, and so on.  Please remember that all equipment is property of the GBTTC and needs to be treated with care.

  • People need to clean after themselves before leaving the premises.  Do not leave behind bottles, containers, wrappers, cracked balls, or other refuse.  The GBTTC is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

  • The foregoing rules and all state, federal, and local laws must be obeyed.  If anyone engages in behavior that could result in the expulsion of the entire club from the premises, that behavior is sufficient reason for immediate and permanent dismissal of the person from the club with forfeiture of membership payment.
